Budget Life: Homeschooling

Hi there. I am starting a mini series called Budget Life that will include tips on how we live on a single income. Today's topic is homeschooling. Homeschooling can be expensive with all the fancy curriculums and extracurricular activities available today. It feels overwhelming to decide what's worth the money and what's not. Homeschooling is also a very personal endeavor and no two homeschools are exactly the same. With that said, I am going to share with you some of the ways I navigate homeschooling on a strict budget. Portion Fix Eating

This is the first day of following my new meal plan... Due to my busy schedule, I did not eat the meals evenly spaced, so I found myself excessively hungry mid-afternoon. However, that was my fault. As you will see below I had quite a lot of food mapped out for my Monday... B: Shakeology x1 + Teaspoon of PB x1 S: Watermelon x2 L: Baked Caul...

4 Ways- date your spouse after kids

Date night. We all remember what those were like. You know, before the train of kids came along. Now, date night is off in a far away magical land filled with unicorns. (I may have read too many kid stories.)   It doesn't matter who you talk to, what classes you attend, or what books you read on the topic of marriage, Communication is always a key point. So, after much failure to balance being a wife and mother, and years to practice, we've settled on in-home dating.  The dates that happen after the kids are in bed. The dates the bring you back together after long days at the office. Time spent rehydrating a drained relationship after wiping up sticky and messy all day. The moments that inspire you to keep on keepin' on. Dates .  We need them with our spouse. If not only to remind us who we are embarking on this crazy journey called life with.  To grow.  To vent.  To be challenged.   After years of trial and error, ...
